Volunteer Opportunities
Spend some time at HGRM and make a difference for a family in need. Many opportunities are available in the fall starting in September – weekdays and weekendsummer and weekends are great times to help others make a home.
Our greatest needs are:
Truck drivers and crew: Pick up furniture donations from donors' homes and businesses. Drivers do not need a special license but must have a clean driving record and be at least 25 years old. Crew members need to be able to lift and carry heavy furniture and be at least 18 years old. Various shifts available. Great opportunity for self employed people with variable or consistent availability.
Donations Assistance: Volunteers help unload goods, record items, unpack and sort small household goods that have been donated. Several openings Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings 9AM – 12Noon.
Client Assistance: Volunteers assist those receiving goods to find and record items, and help load their vehicles. Several shifts available especially Saturday and Sunday afternoons 12:45 – 4:00 PM. Also Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9AM – 12Noon and Tuesday and Thursday 12:45 – 4:00PM.
Client Appointment Making: Make appointments for clients via email and phone through agency contacts. Wednesday afternoons..
Administrative assistance / reception: Answer incoming phone calls and refer to others or answer questions, carry out various administrative tasks. Various shifts.
Data Entry: Accuracy a must. Various shifts available.
