How to Receive Goods

If you are an agency, please click here for referral information for agencies.

If you need furniture and household goods, you must have a referral e-mailed to HGRM from a social service agency, government agency or clergy. Please ask the person from the agency or religious organization who is helping you to make the referral and set up an appointment for you to come to HGRM.

If you are not being assisted by any agency or organization or have other questions about receiving goods, please call us at 978-635-1710 ext.3.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • All visits to HGRM are by appointment only. Please come during your designated time. If you cannot keep your appointment, you or your advocate must call us at 978-635-1710 ext 3 as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule.

  • You must come prepared to take the furniture and household items with you. A truck is the best option for most people. We cannot reserve your household items. Check here for a listing of truck rental options.

  • If you are driving a van, please take the seats out to give you more space.

  • Please do not bring a large group of people with you. Space is limited. For safety reasons, only two or three people will be admitted per client.

  • All items that you take are free of charge.

  • If you do not speak English, please bring someone who can interpret for you.

  • Your social service worker/advocate is welcome to come with you.

  • We have volunteers to help you get the items you need for your home. None of us is paid. It is our pleasure to provide you with these items for your home. HGRM volunteers will help you load your vehicle.

  • Tell your assigned volunteer what you are taking before you bring the items to your vehicle.

  • Please do not bring small children. If children are in the HGRM warehouse, they much be supervised at all times. HGRM is a warehouse with many items in many rooms. We do not want your children to get hurt or lost in our facility or parking lot.

  • We will provide you with stickers or labels that will identify the items that you are taking.

  • Clients are allowed one visit to HGRM. This is to ensure that household goods are fairly distributed to as many families as possible.

  • Certain items such as bureaus, TV’s and air conditioners are usually limited to one per family.

  • HGRM is in the same complex as a small school. Please drive slowly and carefully when on our grounds.

  • If you need to contact the HGRM facility warehouse on the day that you are coming, please call 978-635-1710.

  • It is helpful to bring the completed checklist of household items you need when you come for your appointment.
