HGRM is now called Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts

HGRM has been providing household goods at no charge to individuals and families in need in our surrounding communities for over 18 years. In order to reflect better the reality that we are an independent, not-for profit organization not formally affiliated with any religious group and serving people in many Massachusetts communities, we have changed our name to Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts. We will continue to be known as HGRM and informally as the HuGRooM.

HGRM operates through the use of volunteers, and in cooperation with many religious organizations of all faiths and denominations, human service agencies, service organizations and businesses.

In the past five years HGRM has grown significantly to meet the need in our surrounding communities. We currently serve between 250 and 300 families and individuals every month and work with over 275 social service agencies. We recycle over 25,000 items of furniture and 8,000 boxes of household goods, keeping these out of landfills and placing them into good use all over Massachusetts.

HGRM is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. While we work with many organizations, we are an independent and self-sufficient provider of goods. We have no religious or political agenda or affiliation. We welcome all people who come to us to give and volunteer. The only qualification for participation in HGRM is a willingness to help others and the only qualification for receiving help from HGRM is need - regardless of race, sex, color, religious or national origin. It is all about people helping people and families helping families.
